How Long We Store Personal Data

  • Order and transaction records – we normally keep details of your purchases (including your contact details linked to those purchases) for up to six years after the end of the financial year in which the transaction took place, to comply with tax and accounting rules.

  • Enquiries and contact form messages – we normally keep these for up to 24 months after our last meaningful contact with you, unless we need to keep them longer in connection with an ongoing matter.

  • Marketing data – we keep your email address and marketing preferences until you unsubscribe or object, after which we retain a minimal record to ensure we respect your choice.

  • Website analytics data – is kept in line with the retention periods set by our analytics providers (for example Google Analytics), usually in aggregated form.

We may keep data for longer where we need it for legal claims, complaints or regulatory reasons. When we no longer need personal data, we will securely delete or anonymise it.

 

How We Protect Your Personal Data 

  • Wix stores data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

  • Encryption:

    • All Wix records are stored encrypted on the disk of their database machines. 

    • For sensitive data like PII, Wix adds another layer of protection at the application level. 

    • Wix uses cryptography hash functions to protect user information, ensuring that passwords are stored as hash digests and cannot be recovered from their servers in the event of a security breach.
       

  • Data Access Control:

    • Wix maintains an access control policy that covers its internal network and systems processing personal data, including access logging, monitoring, and limitation. 

    • Data insert, deletion, and modification are stamped and logged with date/time and relevant personnel. 

    • Wix's records and systems distinguish customer records and information from non-customer information.

While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.

International Data Transfers
